Archive for February, 2010

As it gets closer to Easter, work gets busier. It almost feels like Christmas, but instead of a Christmas wreaths and Santa hats and white and red frilly outfits, you have pastel colors and spring backgrounds. Soon, there will be hordes of children with their fancy Easter hats and Easter baskets running all over.

Spring is nuts.

Found a hilarious example of Easter at AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com Nothing like our studio, but still hilarious.

Late night at the library

Been working on a lot of Awareness Night and school work in the library. It’s not even March yet, so why am I so busy?

Who knows. Just gotta keep moving, I guess.

Awareness Night update

Been super busy planning the Asian American Association (AAA)’s culture night. It’s set for Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Carousel theater on campus. As a director, it’s my responsibility to organize the whole event from talent to budget to tickets to publicity. It’s pretty stressful.

I’ve bee working on a few commercials:

Places.

This is my life, killing timeĀ  between classes in Thompson-Boling.

The Gospel: All Sing 2010

Tonight was the last night of All Sing 2010. For those of you who do not know, I participated in All Sing, UT’s annual choir competition (a major tradition), with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). Our show was called “Do You Know the Man?,” a tribute to black gospel music.

And honestly, it was such a great experience. Last year, I had such a blast being part of a team praising Jesus, and when November rolled around, I couldn’t wait to do it again. Though this year’s theme was very different and at times frustrating than years passed, it paid off.

All Sing is a campus wide competition featuring all the major sororities and fraternities. Because of this, BCM is the only non-Greek group which participates in All Sing. Talk about pressure! We had to compete with the best.

But there was one thing that really motivated us: our message. At oneĀ  of the last rehearsals, our director Rodney gave us a bit of inspiration. He said, “Of all the fraternities participating, we have the best message. Think about it, we really do.”

Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the whole UTK community is a really motivating thing. Even though we’re all different, it was really cool to come together and share that experience.

And we did. We won!
